Jean-Claude Ellena
“These perfumes that I create for The Different Company all have a unique olfactory note. Today they represent the quest for olfactory perfection. » Jean-Claude Ellena, 2000.
Born in Grasse and the son of a perfumer, Jean-Claude Ellena was associated very early with the mysteries of Perfumery. He started at Chiris at the age of 16, then continued his studies at Givaudan in Geneva. He composed his first creations for renowned houses (Van Cleef and Arpels, Bulgari, Cartier, Hermès, etc.) which quickly became successes.
Co-founder and first nose to have participated in the adventure of The Different Company, his bias was to use natural raw materials, rarely present in traditional perfumes and thus marks his difference, our difference. For Jean Claude Ellena, the formulas are reworked " sometimes hundreds of times... Too much of this, not enough of that ", the story is constantly redrawing itself, explains this enthusiast. Jean-Claude Ellena offers olfactory writings rich in imaginary references but always refined, with a desire to evoke reality rather than describe it...
Emilie Coppermann
“ Creating for The Different Company allows me to express myself without any constraints and in complicity with the brand. » Émilie Coppermann, 2012.
Émilie is part of this new generation of perfumers who combine a great knowledge of classic perfumery combined with the practice of composing complex perfumes with master perfumers. His clearly expressed sensitivity and his knowledge of the finest materials make him a perfumer of the new generation. It was at the age of 14 that Émilie Coppermann discovered her passion for perfume thanks to her love of flowers. It was therefore quite natural that she continued her studies at ISIPCA in Versailles to become a perfumer and make her passion her profession. More than a vocation, for Émilie, it is the total immersion in a perfumed universe that captivates her and nourishes her for her creations. His talent is the direct consequence of his joyful, open to the world and unconventional nature. His sense of exploration and his uninhibited approach to olfactory experiences enable him to create fragrances for both men and women.
It was in 2012 that the collaboration between The Different Company and Émilie Coppermann began: A new approach to Cologne was born. Complexity, density and lightness are associated with the codes of Cologne behind an immediate approach. His compositions for The Different Company are imbued with a freshness and poetry that resemble him.
Celine Ellena
“ I compose my fragrances with the objective of creating the best possible scent, without any cost or marketing constraints. » Céline Ellena, 2004.
After studying linguistics and psychology, Céline Ellena, a worthy heir to her father Jean-Claude Ellena, joined a prestigious school: ISIPCA, and quickly became a perfumer for major Houses. These first years transmitted to him the curiosity of observing the olfactory world, a finesse of analysis animated by enthusiasm and joy of living which is perceived in all his creations.
It is during her collaboration with The Different Company that Céline Ellena explores dreamlike horizons and thus promotes the discovery of new olfactory sensations, while respecting her values: no cost and marketing constraints.
Marion Costero
“Perfume is the best thing, it allows you to travel without having to move.” Marion Costero
As a child, Marion Costero dreamed of inventing flowers with different scents. When she learned that such a role existed and was called “perfumer,” she was determined to become one. This passion continues to drive her and she finds inspiration everywhere: a samba class, a walk on the beach or a fruit market in São Paulo. She created many pairings inspired by local experiences, but memories of her childhood in the French countryside also drive her compositions.
Christine Nagel
“ It’s a unique experience to be able to create for The Different Company. The freedom of creation is both a great proof of confidence on the part of this House of Haute Parfumerie and at the same time a real challenge .” Christine Nagel, 2014.
Christine Nagel is a charming mix of science, Swiss precision and Italian generosity. She studied chemistry and began working in the chromatography department of a research laboratory. She then became a great perfumer driven by the love of beautiful natural and synthetic raw materials, and the endless desire to discover new ingredients and new trails. Optimistic and enthusiastic, Christine is guided by her emotions and is inspired by people. Creating perfumes is, for her, the best way to express herself. She likes to take a material, knead it until she manages to tame it... Modify the state of the material to divert it towards a new unexpected form! She has won numerous awards for her olfactory work over the years.
It was in 2014 that she signed her only collaboration with The Different Company with a Floral-Ambré: Une Nuit Magnétique, All Night Long.
Alexandra Monet
Enthusiastic and spontaneous, Alexandra has a sensitivity that allows her to express her emotions.
After studying at ISIPCA, Alexandra spent her entire career within DROM. She notably created scented candles for the Plaza Athénée hotel and for Arty Fragrances.
His collaboration with The Different Company began in 2013 with the creation of Interior Sillages. She continued with the creation of our anniversary perfume, which has become the essential Santo Incienso, Sillage Sacré and Adjatay, Narcotique leather, in the Juste Chic Collection, in 2016.
Bertrand Duchaufour
“ I am constantly looking for fragrances that do not yet exist, always keeping in mind that The Different Company favors the pleasure of discovering exceptional fragrances. » Bertrand Duchaufour, 2011.
Bertrand Duchaufour learned the profession of perfumer in Grasse, alongside Jean-Claude Ellena and Lucien Ferrero. He has been working for prestigious brands and clients for more than 21 years within groups specializing in olfactory creation. In 2007, Bertrand Duchaufour decided to strike out on his own and became an independent perfumer. This epicurean, endearing and free electron, creates a perfume like a work of art. True expressions of life, his creations reflect the emotions of an era, but also timeless emotions, always specific to humankind. His creative process follows a few fundamental principles: Balance is achieved when opposites are balanced, through the laws specific to the yin and yang of the Tao; To construct is to destructure, to distort the olfactory principles, by playing on their very nature; Sublimate the natural raw materials used in the presence of well-chosen synthetic products in order to arrive at the evidence of a beautiful agreement; Respect a few key criteria: the originality of the agreement, its diffusion power and its persistence. A rare and delicate alchemy to compose.
It is particularly for the quality of his work on raw materials such as Oud, which he makes a point of using " in a very different" and generous way that Bertrand Duchaufour speaks for The Different Company in 2011 .
